… Charges FG, Oyo State Govt on Immediate Rescue of Abducted Students and Principal
In the aftermath of the deadly attacks on Ahoro Esinele Community in Oriire Local Government Area that resulted in the killing of a teacher, abduction of students from L.A. Primary School, and the kidnapping of the Principal of Community Grammar School along with several students, a prominent Oyo APC Chieftain and gubernatorial aspirant, Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao, known as Allow Alao, has strongly condemned the incident and called on the Federal and Oyo State governments to take decisive action against the rising wave of insecurity in the state.
Engr Oyedele Alao stated this in a statement issued on Saturday where he described the attack as “barbaric, heartless and unacceptable,” he expressed deep shock that innocent school children and staff could be targeted in such a brazen manner in broad daylight.
Allow Alao noted that the terrible incident exposes critical security gaps, including the near-total absence of security outposts in many rural communities, lack of regular police patrols around schools, weak intelligence gathering mechanisms, and slow response time by security agencies to distress calls from remote areas.
“I express my profound thoughts and prayers to the victims of the ghastly incident at Ahoro Esinele Community of Oriire LGA that witnessed the ruthless killing of a school teacher, abduction of students from L.A. Primary School and Principal of Community Grammar School with several students. This is without doubt a blatant reflection of the huge dip in the security system of Oyo State that has continued to threaten our communities and peaceful co-existence across the state.”
“These gaps have turned our rural communities and schools into soft targets for bandits and kidnappers. We cannot continue like this. Oriire and several other local government areas lack functional surveillance systems, adequate manpower, and equipped rapid response teams. This must change immediately,” he said.
Allow Alao extended heartfelt heartfelt condolences to the family of the slain teacher, praying for the repose of the deceased’s soul, and wished the injured speedy recovery. He also prayed for the safe and unconditional release of all abducted persons.
“Parents and guardians of these innocent children are going through unimaginable trauma. I urge them to remain strong, cooperate with security agencies, and keep hope alive. These children must return home unharmed,” he stated.
The APC leader called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, to immediately address these security deficits by strengthening the security architecture across the state.
“The government must rise to this challenge without delay. We need heavy deployment of well-equipped security forces to every vulnerable community, improved intelligence-led operations, establishment of functional security outposts near schools, and better coordination between federal and state security agencies. Criminal elements must be flushed out before these attacks become a daily occurrence,” he declared.
Allow Alao further urged the Oyo State Government to prioritise the swift rescue of the abducted principal, students, and others, emphasising that their safety must not be compromised.
“Every child in Oyo State deserves the right to learn in a safe environment. This incident must mark a turning point in our fight against insecurity. Government at all levels must act decisively to close these security gaps and restore peace and confidence in our communities,” Allow Alao added.Tagged Ahoro Esinele, Allow Alao, Oriire, Oyedele Alao, Oyo State
