The political family of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State has been thrown into mourning following the passing of Alhaja Sidikat Basiru, the beloved mother of the National Secretary of the APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru.
Her death was announced on Sunday in a statement signed and released by the Osun State APC Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, and made available to newsmen in Osogbo.
Reacting to the development, APC Governorship Aspirant in Oyo State, Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao, popularly known as Allow Alao, described the demise of the late Alhaja as a deep personal and collective loss.
In a condolence message made available to newsmen, Engr. Alao said the late Alhaja Sidikat lived an exemplary life that impacted not only her family but also all who came in contact with her.
“The passing of the late Alhaja Basiru was in accordance with the will of Almighty Allah, who gives life and takes it at His appointed time,” Allow Alao stated.
He further noted that the death was “a painful loss not only to the family but also to all who knew and benefited from her exemplary life, motherly counsel, and quiet support for her son’s service to the nation.”
Engr. Alao prayed Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljanat Firdaus and to give Senator Ajibola Basiru, his siblings, and the entire family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
