Eid-el-Kabir: Allow-Alao Felicitates Muslims, Demands Action on Kidnapped Orire Students and Teachers

As Muslims across Nigeria joined their counterparts worldwide to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao, popularly known as “Allow-Alao,” has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim faithful. In a Sallah message released on Tuesday, Engr. Alao urged worshippers to reflect deeply on the core values of sacrifice, obedience, and unity that the festival symbolizes, calling for a renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence and national development.

In his message, the APC chieftain and governorship aspirant emphasized that the festival, which commemorates the unwavering faith of Prophet Ibrahim, should serve as a catalyst to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and foster a greater sense of community. “Eid-el-Kabir reminds us of Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience and willingness to sacrifice for the greater good. May this season renew our faith, deepen our compassion, and bring peace to every home in Oyo State and Nigeria. It is a time for self-reflection, generosity, and reaching out to those in need,” Alao stated.

However, beyond the festive cheer, Alao used the platform to draw urgent attention to a lingering security tragedy that continues to cast a dark shadow over the celebrations. He specifically highlighted the prolonged captivity of students and teachers abducted from the Orire Local Government Area, describing the situation as a source of unimaginable pain, anxiety, and heartbreak for the affected families and the entire community. The abductees, who were taken from their school premises in a brazen attack weeks ago, have remained in captivity despite ongoing security efforts, prompting growing public outcry.

Engr. Alao directly appealed to both the federal and state governments, as well as security agencies, to treat the safe and unconditional release of the victims as an urgent and non-negotiable priority. He noted that no family should have to endure the agony of uncertainty during a time meant for joy and togetherness. “As we celebrate, we must remember those who cannot celebrate with their families. The kidnapped students and teachers of Orire Local Government remain in our thoughts, and their freedom must be pursued with immediate and decisive action. I call on the government to hasten their release and ensure that such incidents do not repeat themselves. The lives and education of our children are at stake,” he declared.

The APC leader further urged residents across Oyo State to remain vigilant and cooperate fully with security agencies by providing credible, timely information that could aid rescue operations. He stressed that collective vigilance is a fundamental tool in improving overall safety and preventing future attacks. “Security is not the responsibility of government alone; it requires the active participation of every citizen. We must be our brother’s keeper and share information that can lead to the safe return of our children,” Alao added.

Reaffirming his unwavering commitment to the progress of Oyo State, Alao pledged to continue supporting initiatives that prioritize security, quality education, and sustainable development. He concluded his message with prayers for peace, prosperity, and divine protection during the Sallah celebrations and beyond, hoping that the spirit of Eid would bring lasting solace to all grieving families and a brighter future for the state.
