Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao, popularly known as Allow Alao, an aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming general election, has expressed strong satisfaction with the conduct of the party’s congresses from the ward to the zonal level across the South-West region.
The South-West zone comprises six states: Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo
Engr Alao made this known while addressing journalists after attending the APC South-West Zonal Congress held on Wednesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena (formerly Onikan Stadium) in Lagos. The congress produced Mr. Isaac Kekemeke as the party’s South-West Zonal Chairman, along with seven other zonal executives, all elected through a consensus arrangement.
He stated that the consensus approach adopted by the party’s leadership would make it difficult for any opposition party to defeat the APC in future elections.
“The system has exhibited the core values of progressive ideals that we have always upheld,” Alao said.
According to him, the procedural pattern reflects the progressive ideologies that build a formidable party capable of excelling in any election.
He emphasized that the system discourages non-faithful members from securing the party’s ticket, noting that the leadership recognizes committed members and rewards only those loyal to the party.
Speaking on the APC governorship ticket in Oyo State, Alao affirmed his readiness to support whoever emerges as the party’s consensus candidate.
