Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao “Allow Alao” Felicitates Muslims Worldwide on New Islamic Year 1448 AH

Prominent engineer, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao, popularly known as Allow Alao, has extended warm congratulations to Muslims across the globe on the occasion of the new Islamic year, 1448 After Hijrah, AH.

In a message made available to journalists on Tuesday, Allow Alao described the Islamic New Year, Muharram 1, as a period for reflection, renewal, and rededication to the values of peace, compassion, sacrifice and unity that Islam embodies.

“Today marks the beginning of another year in the Hijrah calendar, a moment that reminds us of the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) migration from Makkah to Madinah. That journey was not just physical movement, but a movement from darkness to light, from oppression to justice,” he said.

“On behalf of my family, I congratulate all Muslim brothers and sisters across the globe. May this new year bring Allah’s blessings, forgiveness, protection and prosperity to every home. It is a time to reflect on the past 12 months, seek forgiveness for our shortcomings, and set intentions for a year guided by faith, patience and service to humanity.”

The Iroko born politician noted that Muharram, being one of the four sacred months in Islam, should be observed with increased devotion, charity and good conduct. He urged Muslims to use the period to pray for Nigeria and the world amid current economic and security challenges.

“As we step into 1448 AH, let us renew our commitment to honesty, hard work and tolerance. Nigeria needs all of us to rise above division and work together for progress. I pray that Allah grants our leaders wisdom and grants every Nigerian ease and abundance in the months ahead,” Allow Alao added.

Engr. Alao, who has consistently supported community development, education and empowerment initiatives, also called on well-meaning Nigerians to assist the less privileged during the sacred month. “The best way to welcome a new Islamic year is to put smiles on the faces of those struggling around us. That is the true spirit of Hijrah,” he said.

He concluded with prayers for continued peace, stability and growth for the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria, Oyo State and worldwide. “Hijrah Mubarak to all. May 1448 AH be a year of divine favour, healing and breakthroughs for us all.”

The Islamic New Year 1448 AH officially commenced following the sighting of the new moon. Muslims worldwide mark the day with prayers, supplications and acts of charity.
