Oyo 2027: Allow Alao knocks APC guber primary results, alleges massive fraud

A frontline aspirant in Oyo State in the last  All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary election, Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao (Allow Alao), has strongly rejected the results being circulated in the media, describing them as “fabricated” and lacking any credibility.

Alao in a letter addressed to the National Chairman of APC, and dated May 29, 2026,  dismissed the purported results which allegedly awarded him a paltry 170 votes across the 33 local government areas of the state.

“I scored 100 votes in my own ward (Ward 12, Iroko) in Akinyele Local Government alone, where I defeated other aspirants convincingly. It is mathematically and logically impossible for me to have recorded only 170 votes statewide,” he said.

The APC aspirant further revealed strong performances in other zones, stating that he polled more than 8,000 votes in the Oke Ogun zones, which comprises 10 local government areas, and over 5,000 votes in the Ogbomoso zone with five local governments. He also recorded over 1,000 votes in Ibarapa North and Ibarapa Central combined.

“These facts are backed by signed result sheets, video evidence, and testimonies from party agents and observers across multiple wards,” Alao added.

He expressed deep shock at the wide gap between the figures being circulated and the actual votes he claimed to have received on the field.

“How can any credible process award me a mere 170 votes when I have clear evidence of strong performance in several local governments? This is not an election result, it is a reckless allocation of figures as if no actual voting took place across the state,” he stated.

Alao also faulted the initial results which reportedly gave Senator Sharafadeen Alli over 570,000 votes, noting that the total APC membership register in Oyo State stands at 153,641.

He observed that the figures were later adjusted to around 91,824 for the same aspirant after public outcry.

“These inconsistencies confirm that the entire process was compromised and the results doctored,” he said.

The Oyo APC gubernatorial aspirant urged the National Chairman of the party and the National Working Committee to immediately reject the results and set up an independent investigative panel to ascertain the true outcome of the primary election.

“As expected, I will stand by democratic principles and therefore urge the leadership of our great party to stand by  justice and continue in its efforts to promote peace, unity and future prospects of the APC in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 elections,” Alao warned.

He however reaffirmed his commitment to the progress of the party and the development of Oyo State.
