A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and 2027 governorship hopeful, Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao, popularly known as Allow Alao, has felicitated with the former Minister of Power and prominent son of Ibadanland, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, on the occasion of his birthday celebration.
In a congratulatory message made available to newsmen on Monday, Engr. Alao described Adelabu as a distinguished technocrat, accomplished financial expert, and patriotic Nigerian whose contributions to national development and Oyo State remain indelible.
According to Alao, Chief Adelabu has consistently demonstrated uncommon capacity, courage and competence in both private and public service, from his stellar career in the banking sector to his service as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and later as Minister of Power.
“On behalf of my family, political associates and supporters across Oyo State, I heartily rejoice with my dear brother and leader, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, PENKELEMESI, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.
“Bayo Adelabu is a pride of Ibadanland and Oyo State. He is a man of deep intellect, uncommon vision and unshakable commitment to the progress of our dear state and nation. His trajectory in life remains a source of inspiration to many young people,” Alao stated.
The APC chieftain noted that as Minister of Power, Adelabu brought his wealth of experience to bear in tackling one of the most critical sectors of the nation’s economy, with bold reforms and initiatives aimed at improving power supply in the country.

Engr. Alao, who holds the title of Asiwaju Iroko, further lauded Adelabu’s philanthropy, humility and grassroots connection, describing him as a leader who has remained accessible to the people despite his lofty attainments.
He prayed Almighty Allah to grant the former minister long life in sound health, greater wisdom and renewed strength to continue his service to Oyo State, Nigeria and humanity at large.
“I pray that Allah in His infinite mercy continues to preserve you, grant you more years in good health, elevate you beyond your expectations and make you a greater instrument for the development of Oyo State and Nigeria.
“May this new age usher in more remarkable achievements, joy and fulfilment for you and your entire household,” Alao added.
Chief Adebayo Adelabu, a former governorship candidate in Oyo State and grandson of the late political icon, Alhaji Adegoke Adelabu, is marking his birthday today with tributes pouring in from political associates, friends and well-wishers across the country.
